Interning in 2010

In 2008 something happened that has literally changed my life. I was shown a video that forced me to make an important decision.

In October of 2007, I met a woman name Anne Weibel, who had just become the director of CEF in my area. She had me write down my name and address so she could get me information on a summer missions opportunity. I did so… and then forgot all about it.

But a few months later Mrs. Weibel contacted me. She gave me a DVD to watch that was about Christian Youth in Action (CYIA) summer training camp. I watched it and began to cry.

Each of the teens who had gone through the training were confident, able to share their faith effectively—particularly with kids. That was something I’d wanted to do since I was a six years old, but I never had the knowledge or courage to do it! Could this training help me like it helped these other teens? I decided, with my heart in my throat, that I would apply for training that summer.

I had no idea what I was getting into!

But that training was one of the best things I’ve done with my
life—certainly the best thing I’ve done with my summer!
Since that first year, God has pulled me forward into things I never thought I could do… and He’s doing it again.

This summer, I am doing an internship with Mrs. Weibel, the area director. I’ll be coordinating the 5-day kids clubs in the summer, helping with the teacher training, and helping with office work. It’s a big job, and I will also teach 5-day clubs as I have for the past two summers! Your prayer support means more to me than I can say, as this job is far beyond my comfort zone, and if I succeed in my work I know it will be all because of God. I won’t be able to take any credit.

The financial support I need will be over $3000 from April to August. I've already received almost half of that amount, thanks to generous supporters... many of whom don't know me personally, but are familiar with CEF.

This ministry is so much bigger than me or you; it’s about the children who have never accepted Jesus as their friend and Savior. Jesus cares about the children in this area more than we can ever understand. He called me as a little child to receive his saving grace, and I know that many of you were also called at a young age.

Will you support me this summer, 2010, as I reach out to the children in Wisconsin?

The rewards are not just wonderful… they are eternal.
