How small is your strength! (Proverbs 24:10)

Sometimes I realize how completely lost and hopeless I am. It's not like I want to be a fool, but sometimes I really am a fool.

If I was really prudent (Proverbs 27:12), I would see the danger and take refuge in the only Refuge I have. Those stressful circumstances would become markers of trouble ahead, and would warn me to turn to Him before I go any further into no-man's-land.

It's true I find it easy to "chase fantasies" (Proverbs 28) though no lasting good has come out of that yet.
But lasting good would come out of everything if I chased Refuge instead, with my eyes up front.

"If you say, 'But we knew nothing about this,' does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay each person according to what he has done?"
(Proverbs 24:12, NIV)
