This weekend a group of us came together for a Christian Youth in Action winter retreat. It was a time of refreshment and fun for everyone who came, though I think our visitors from down south felt it was a little chilly (and it was)!

Anne Weibel chats with the teens. |
There were plenty of opportunities for past summer missionaries to share what they had done last summer and why they had come.
"CEF has helped me because you face the same fears with 7-year-olds as you do with those older than you when you share the Gospel," one young man shared. "I mean, it's the same Gospel."
Another teen said that on her 4H trip when she shared the Gospel, she "could basically answer any of her friend's questions because of CEF".
A young man who has been involved with children's ministry for some time said that "being a good example is great and all, but that's not good enough. Working with CEF gave me the tools to share the Gospel...now I talk about it more."
A second-year student said, "I think God wants me to come here. It's really changing me." One young man summed it up by saying, "it's not about what I want to try doing with my life, but what the Lord wants me to do." That, I would say, is the primary attitude that was conveyed this weekend. I pray it continues into the summer!
